Why good vehicle visibility is important

We all know as road users how important is safety, especially when we take our kids to school, rush to work or return home late and tired after a long day. Tiredness and low visibility can influence how fast we react and/or percept distances and obstacles.

Although the Netherlands keep a high score in the quality of infrastructure and cycle network, giving enough space to cyclists on separated bike paths, still there are cases of accidents, especially in big junctions. In the winter when the dark falls early, or the mist blocks the visibility the back and front light of a bicycle really doesn’t help much the situation.

Efficiency in Design

For that reasons, the design team of Elbibi, Dutch cyclists themselves, has given some extra attention to safety and practical side of the vehicle. In Elbibi, the unique futuristic design of the soft curvy top weather protection ends up to a high red light, big enough to be seen from distance.

As an extra feature of visibility the team has added also a lower same size red light, right under the back storage of the vehicle.

Beside the bigger lights, placed efficiently on the vehicle, the curvy sides of the design makes the eBike Elbibi clearly visible from the back and the sides of the road.

The team continues to work intensively in improving the prototype, adding features and details, that will create an amazing and safe cycling experience.
